Erica is a partner and Executive Director of City Sports & Physiotherapy Clinics. She has been involved in orthopaedic and sports injury rehabilitation since 1984. Erica graduated from Dalhousie University with a BSc in Physiotherapy in 1984 and from Acadia University in 1981 with a BSc in Biology and Chemistry. She has rehabilitated athletes and competed herself at the Provincial, National and International level . Erica’s areas of interest are Keeping Fit to Play, intergrating exercise into a busy lifestyle, workplace ergonomics and breast cancer rehabilitation. She also consults and prescribes custom orthotics and shoes.

Carl Petersen is a Partner and Director of High Performance Training at City Sports & Physiotherapy Clinic. He works with athletes ranging from club level to those on the WTA/ATP tennis and World Cup ski tour. He travelled fulltime with the Canadian Alpine Ski Team for 15 years. His physiotherapy and fitness coaching roles have given him the opportunity to work with, coach and design training programs for Olympic Gold, World Championship Gold and World Cup medallists. He is often consulted by local and National media and appears regularly on TV. Petersen has worked and lectured to physicians, therapists and coaches on 5 continents most recently in England, Ireland, Japan, China, Paraguay, Argentina, Uruguay, Turkey, Australia, Brazil, Switzerland and the USA. He has published numerous articles in a variety of publications for both the Scientific and lay community which have been translated into 7 languages. He has also written or co-authored 3 books including Fit to Play™ Tennis, Fit 2 Ski, Fit to Deliver™ and has produced a series of DVD’s entitled Fit to Play™ & Perform.

Gareth graduated from Curtin University in Perth, Australia with a Master of Physiotherapy and completed his Bachelor degree in Human Kinetics at UBC. His work as a kinesiologist and as a strength and conditioning coach for elite level hockey players prior to starting his physiotherapy studies solidified his strong background in exercise prescription and injury rehabilitation. His time in Australia only furthered his interests in manual therapy and sports injury, as he continues to enhance his skills by obtaining his levels in orthopaedic manual therapy and sports physiotherapy. An avid golfer, Gareth is now certified in specific golf exercise prescription and injury screening. His time away from the clinic has now shifted away from the rugby field and a playing career which included selection for the National Senior Sevens Team to the hockey rink, where he continues to compete passionately in the recreational leagues.

Duane Brousmiche graduated from Queen’s University in 2002. During his time at Queen’s he worked with the Men’s varsity basketball and rugby teams, giving him the opportunity to travel to international tournaments. More recently Duane has work with the Canadian Men’s Sr. and Jr. Field Hockey teams and BC Rugby. He was also a member of the host medical staff at the Richmond Oval during the 2010 Olympics. Since his graduation, Duane has worked in busy private practice clinics, treating mostly orthopedic injuries related to sports (from Pre-habilitation to Re-habilitation), motor vehicle accidents and Workers compensation. He has pursued post graduate education in Intramuscular Stimulation, sports physiotherapy, manual therapy, acupuncture and custom orthotic fitting. When away from the office, Duane spends his time skiing (past member of the Canadian Ski Patrol), golfing, biking, hiking, and any other way he can keep active.

Shanna is a physiotherapist specializing in injury prevention, rehabilitation and sport-specified exercise therapy. She is a graduate of Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Since obtaining her degree in 1998, Shaana has treated a wide-range of orthopaedic injuries related to sports, motor vehicle accidents, workplace injuries and “everyday” non-specific neck, back and shoulder pain. She is also certified to incorporate acupuncture into her physiotherapy treatments. Recreational interests include soccer, snowboarding, volleyball, running hiking and golfing. She is currently the team physiotherapist for the Dizzy Chicks Cycling Team.

Timberly is a Sport Physiotherapist holding a post-graduate Diploma from Sport Physiotherapy Canada (SPC) and is an instructor at the University of British Columbia. She is very active in the sport physiotherapy community at the regional, national, and international levels. She was Venue Medical Manager for the Richmond Olympic Oval during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games and has traveled the world as a therapist for Rugby Canada and Field Hockey Canada. Timberly is one of the Vancouver Sun Run’s “Ask an Expert” panel members, providing injury prevention advice to runners through the Vancouver Sun newspaper and at local running clinics throughout Vancouver. In her spare time, Timberly can often be found running the trails or riding one of her bicycles around the mountains of the North Shore and Sea to Sky corridor. Timberly holds a BSc in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University, a BScPT from UBC, and is the Chair of the BC Division of SPC. Her primary areas of focus are treating sport related injuries, pre and post-surgical rehabilitation, with a keen interest in shoulders.

Daniel graduated from UBC in 2003 with his Physiotherapy degree and Human Kinetics. His primary areas of expertise are manual therapy and sports injuries. He enjoys helping patients develop sport specific exercise and training routines to prevent re-injury and to improve performance. He is an Intermediate Manipulative Therapist, having completed his Part A in Manual Therapy Certificate in 2008. Dan has worked with BC Soccer, the U15 and U17 National Soccer teams and spent 2 years as the physiotherapist for Capilano College/University Athletics. Dan was also a member of the 2010 Winter Olympic Medical Team. While at UBC Dan captained the soccer team and today continues to compete vigoriously in an over 30 category. He also enjoys basketball, running, outdoor sports and his young family.

Lindsay completed a Masters of Physiotherapy from The University of Sydney, Australia in 2009 after graduating with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics (Exercise Science) from The University of British Columbia. She has an interest in sport injuries and injury prevention. Lindsay understands that sport can mean many things to different people- from a hobby, to a passion, to a profession. Whatever your level of physical activity, she creates a therapeutic environment to get you back on your feet. With past experience as a personal trainer, she utilizes a combination of manual therapy and exercise rehabilitation. While in Australia Lindsay developed a keen interest in working with Rugby players. Since arriving home to Vancouver, she has worked with the Meraloma Rugby Club and was physiotherapist to the U19 Women’s BC Rugby team during their bronze medal achievement in the 2010 National Competition. Lindsay continues her post graduate education, currently working on her Orthopaedic Manual Levels, as well as Sports Physiotherapy Certification, both through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

Joanne graduated from UBC in 2004 with her BScPT after completing a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from Trinity Western University. While at Trinity Western she played varsity basketball. Since obtaining her degree, Joanne has gained significant experience treating a wide range of orthopaedic injuries for all ages and fitness levels, including sport-related sprains and strains, workplace injuries, motor vehicle accidents, postural issues, and general aches and pains. Joanne also has a keen interest in pre- and post-natal care, especially as a new mother herself. She is a certified Fit to Deliver instructor and can help you resolve your aches and pains related to pregnancy and develop an exercise program that meets your current needs. Joanne is a Level 3 trained Manual Therapist with the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and has worked with local sports teams and at various sporting events/tournaments. When away from the office, Joanne can be found participating in pilates, swimming, hiking, reading and spending time with her young family.

Carrie graduated from McMaster University with a Masters degree in Physiotherapy after completing a Bachelors degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Guelph. She has successfully completed training with the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, obtaining her Certificate of Intermediate Manual and Manipulative Therapy. Carrie continues to work towards obtaining her Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy, having accumulated on-field hours in running, volleyball, ultimate, rugby, lacrosse and soccer events in Vancouver. Her treatment approach includes a combination of manual techniques, specific and focused exercises and education to restore function, minimize re-injury and allow clients to return to activities safely and effectively. Kim graduated with a Masters degree in Physical Therapy from University of Toronto, after completing an Honours degree in Kinesiology at McMaster University. Kim continues her learning with postgraduate courses with special interests in manual therapy and sport physiotherapy. She has been certified to practice acupuncture from McMaster University and enjoys incorporating acupuncture in her treatments. After graduation, Kim worked in a busy downtown clinic in Toronto treating mostly orthopaedic injuries related to repetitive injuries – most notably the ‘Toronto neck’ syndrome and the ‘crackberry thumb,’ sport-related sprains & strains, and aches & pains in the weekend warrior population. Kim was also part of the performing arts medical team for the production “A Chorus Line” at The Cannon Theatre. She plays competitive Ultimate Frisbee, and has been the team therapist for Toronto women’s team Lotus and U of T Women’s. During the winter months, Kim enjoys hitting the park on her snowboard or finding fresh tracks. As a certified CASI Level 2 Snowboard Instructor, she also enjoys instructing beginners and intermediate snowboarder to stay standing on their boards.
