Our team of Registered Physiotherapists can provide you with the following workshops or custom design them specifically to you or your group’s fitness or health interests and/or needs.

Office Aches & Pains
Work does not have to be a pain in the neck…or back… or shoulder. The goal of this practical, interactive workshop is to teach participants to recognize office aches, pains and repetitive strain injuries, and to be able to counteract the negative effects that sedentary office work has on our bodies. You will learn preventative stretch and strength exercises to help you remain pain free at the office.

Fit to Work
Always a winner. It is time for a refresher and to learn what’s new. In this workshop you will learn how to ergonomically design your workstation to fit your body and the specific demands of your job to help maximize your performance while at work. Participants will also learn how to recognize early signs and symptoms common in the workplace, as well as prevention techniques.

Office Yoga
Office Yoga is an educational and practical seminar that will help reduce the risk of painful office-based aches and repetitive stress injuries. Loose and comfortable clothing is highly advisable, as we will cover common posture faults and review gentle stretches to help restore your physical vibrance.

1-2-3 Lift
Don’t lift yourself to future back problems. This practical workshop is specifically designed to prevent low back injuries. It will include education on the mechanism of low back injuries and demonstrations on the correct ways to use our bodies, including lifting, pulling and pushing, and stabilizing our core.

RSI Free
RSI Free is an on-site prevention workshop designed to reduce potential injuries caused by repetitive activity from workplaces, ranging from the office to the warehouse. Our physiotherapists will assess your workplace to customize the workshop specifically to your needs. This program encourages self-responsibility by ensuring the employee is aware of all present risk factors and learns steps in avoiding inury. This educational seminar meets the education and training component (section 4.51) of the WCB ergonomics (MSI) requirements.

Fit to Play
Avoid “weekend warrior syndrome” by learning what to include in your exercise program to keep you injury free. Many exercise programs are primarily cardiovascular. Learn how to include strength, agility, and core and flexibility training to keep you Fit to Play. All exercise levels can be accommodated together. This workshop is guaranteed to enhance your current program.

Put a Stop to Shoulder Pain
Are you suffering from shoulder pain? Have you taken up a new sport, job, or activity that involves repetitive arm motions and are wondering if your arm is up to it? This session will take a practical, interactive approach to the assessment and treatment of shoulder pain and injuries. Learn specific stretching and strengthening exercises and other valueable self-treatment tips to allow you relieve and prevent shoulder pain.

The Pulled Groin and Lower Limb Injuries
Prepare your players for common pulled groin or lower limb injury. Whether you are just learning a new sport or playing at a competitive level, this workshop is a must if you want to avoid being on the injury reserve list. Learn how to prepare for the season with proper stretches and strengthening and conditioning exercises.

Jump into Spring with Plyometrics
Traditionally reserved for elite athletes, Plyometric training is a terrific way for ALL athletes to build explosive power and agility. Plyometric training is also a great way to help prevent injuries. Participants will learn safe and effective training exercises for the upper and lower body.

Deep Water Running
Water running is an excellent way to maintain or gain fitness without placing stress through the joints of the body. It can be used as an addition to a regular fitness regime or as a form of cross training to help rest an injuried area. All participants will become skilled in the deep water running technique by completion of the workshop.

Fit For Golf
Are you Fit For Golf? This practical workshop will highlight the minimum warmup, early season preparation, as well as what to include in your off season training to ensure you play better golf. Common golf injuries will also be discussed.

Videotaped Dynamic Warm-Up and Recovery Techniques for Soccer
Develop a systematic warm-up technique that includes progressively increasing circulation, improving coordination and balance, firing the central nervous system with speed work, and preparing your muscle/tendon system for ultimate performance. You will learn advanced planning strategies that allow your body to recover and to prevent that next day soreness, otherwise known as Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS).

The Aging Athlete
Why are injuries more common as you get older? This workshop will discuss common ailments, how to recognize early signs and symptoms, and ways to prevent them even as you age.

The Art of Stretching
Stretching is not the same as warming up. In this explanatory workshop, learn how to develop a great stretching routine that will increase your flexibilty and reduce your injury potential.
